So today we have arrived back into the home port of
Copenhagen, Denmark. The morning is
beautiful, the sun is shining, boy, what a difference a week makes.
I don’t have a lot to report today so I’ll throw in some
answers to miscellaneous questions I have been receiving along with the report.
1. I have
had a number of people ask me about what kind of shoes to bring. Personally, I brought 3 pairs: a pair of black dress shoes, a pair of
sneakers and a pair of sandals. I have
not worn the sandals as it has been too cold this last week.
2.
I have been asked about the weather: it really varies throughout the day. It can be cold and rainy, and the breeze is
really chilly and then it can be cloudy, and then the sun might come out. Dress in layers.

3.
I have been asked about the chocolate. All the chocolate I have tasted has been
excellent. I tried a Kit Kat bar the
other day it was very good.
4. For the Castaway Club gift, I know that everyone
gets the triangular shaped backpack. For
the platinum gift you get an umbrella inside.
I don’t know if there is any gift for silver or gold. I will have to find out.
5. There seems to be a limited amount of Palo
Reservations available. However, brunch
seems to be a challenge. However, there
is a waiting list. If you want to try to
get a Palo reservation once on board, head to Lumiere’s at 12:30 p.m. to try to
secure a reservation.
6.
Dinner times are 6:00 and 8:30 p.m

Here is a picture of my 100% Norwegian Wool
Sweater that I aid 910 Danish Kroner for:
For those wanting to know what time the ship cleared
customs, the first announcement was at 7:15 a.m. that the ship had been cleared
and those with express walk off could disembark the ship.
The Daily Navigator stated that all guests must disembark
the ship by 9:15 a.m.
For those doing back to back cruises, you had a couple of
options. First, you could get off the ship
anytime after 7:15 a.m. However, if you
wanted the free shuttle provided into Copenhagen (which took you right to
Tivoli) the shuttle started at 9:30 and ran every half hour. You had to return by 2:30 p.m. From what I was told, there were Disney Cast
Members at the stop at Tivoli to assist you in getting back to the ship.
If you decided to stay on the ship, you had to report to
Fathom’s at 9:30 a.m. There were about
100 guests in Fathom’s that were getting off to get back on. The clearance officer escorted us off the
ship about 9:45 a.m. and we went directly into the terminal and checked in and
got our new Key to the World Cards.
Then Elaine and I went over to the Adventures by Disney desk
and checks in with Dusty who gave us the information. We will meet some of our fellow ABD’ers
tonight at dinner as we will be sitting together, but our welcome reception
will be tomorrow in Keys at 11:00 a.m.
The terminal is still closed for new guests, but I notice
quite a few outside waiting to get in.
The guests doing the back to back started re-boarding at 10:25 a.m. The last of the back to back guests cleared
through at 10:30 a.m. I stayed in the
terminal as there was awesome free internet service and I had some work to
do. (I ended up working on my computer
until 3:00 p.m. when I finally boarded the ship.) I plugged in my computer to the outlet in the
port (just make sure you have a converter), and it didn’t seem to be a problem.
Since I was in the terminal all that time, I had the
opportunity to view the going’s on. The
terminal opened at 10:30 a.m. The family
of the day was announced and boarded at 11:45 a.m. Then the Concierge guests boarded and then
boarding number 1 started. By 12:15 p.m.
DCL was on boarding number 12, so it went pretty fast.
The terminal seemed to stay really busy, but guests seemed
to be boarding pretty quickly after getting to the terminal, so I don’t think
anyone waited too long.
Mickey would come out for pictures, and then switch and then
Minnie would come out for pictures. By
1:00 p.m. you could pretty much walk up for character pictures and there was
only a person or two in front of you in line.
Natalie is now cruise director and Carly is assistant. Brent went on vacation today.
Lifeboat drill was at 4:00 p.m.
Sailaway was at 4:30 p.m.
By the time sailaway started, the weather had turned cold, the sun was
gone and it was breezy.
Since we are on an Adventures by Disney this week, we get
all our pictures on a disk for free! So
we will be getting as many pictures as possible this week with characters and
backgrounds to maximize the value. The
disk costs $349.00 I believe.
We head to dinner at 8:30 starting in Carioca’s this
evening. Our server, Adrian, comes up
and calls me by name and then starts talking to me. I swear I should know him but can’t
remember. He then comes back and asks me
if I know Alvin. I said yes, and then he
tells me he is Alvin’s younger brother.
I had no idea that Alvin’s younger brother worked on the ship. I am going to have to give Alvin a hard time
about this.
It is rotational dining menu.
After dinner, we decided to go see the Frozen short which is
shown right before Cinderella in the Buena Vista Theater. Cinderella starts at 10:30 p.m. Well, obviously we weren’t the only ones with
this brilliant idea, because many others watched the Frozen short and then left
at the same time we did when Cinderella started. I highly recommend seeing it. It is really cute.
After that we head back to the room and decide to call it a
night. We have a really busy sea day
tomorrow with everything going on.
So, Goodnight from the Disney Magic!
Great update Linda. Thanks again for all the great information.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a magical time. Thank you for sharing. Your sweater is beautiful! Do you remember which store in Copenhagen?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend transition day. I am looking forward to reading about your ABD adventures on this cruise. We know several families sailing with you.
