Sea Day July 3 2015

Last night we got to turn our clock’s back one hour! That means we got an extra hours sleep.  Of course, I stayed up last night watching movies late, so I didn’t go to bed until about 2 a.m. (which was really only 1 a.m.).

But, we had to be up early this morning.  For the first time in awhile, the Disney Magic is doing a Character Breakfast!  Now, the process is a little different.  On the front page of the Navigator on day one when you get onboard you go get a ticket for the Character Breakfast at the same time you get your tickets for the Princesses, Anna and Elsa as well as the Marvel Characters.  We were assigned an 8:00 a.m. breakfast time.  The breakfast is staggered, so guests are coming at 8, 8:15; 8:30 and so on until about 9 or 9:15.  It worked really well.  We got to see Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto.  Donald was still in bed sleeping.  The character breakfast will continue through the summer according to the food and beverage manager.  (just know, things are always subject to change.)

My version of the Mickey Waffle, with three sides of strawberries, and 2 dabs of whipping cream.

Me and Courtney!

After breakfast we had just a few minutes before the Castaway Club Celebration.  I know I reported earlier that we were told there were 1800 Castaway Club members on board.  But today Commodore Tom said there are 2,000 Castaway Club members on board and out of those 1,200 are Platinum or Gold.  The celebration was in Fathom’s.  Commodore Tom called out number of cruises and had people hold their hand up.  I was the last one.  This is cruise 57.

When the Castaway Club Celebration is over, we have about an hour before our Palo Brunch, so I head back to the room to do a little re-organization and actually do a little packing even though we still have a week before getting off the ship.  I thought I had been really good with not buying stuff, but I have more things than I thought.  Hopefully I have brought enough luggage or I’ll be buying something in London next Friday (hm…..sounds like a rerun with me and my daughter Jamie in 2010 when we had to buy an additional piece of luggage.)

Off to Palo for our wonderful brunch.  Enton, head chef, made us some special items today.  I can’t tell you the names of them, however, they were delicious.  Something with some really good rich cheese.  Of course, everything up there seems to have some kind of cheese with it.  For dessert he made us another Nutella Pizza! YUM!

Then we return to the stateroom to find out that Iceland is requiring the ship to collect all passports and hold onto them until after we leave Iceland, so we go surrender our passports on deck 4 at Preludes and get a receipt for them.  Some guests seemed to have an issue with turning in their passport, but really…..it is not DCL’s idea, they would rather have us keep our passports.  Anyway, if you want to get off in Iceland, turn in your passport!

It is then time to go try by hand at Bingo, but no Bingo luck today.  This is the first I have played Bingo this cruise, been too busy.  No Bingo tomorrow as we arrive in port around noon and everyone will be getting off the ship (unless you didn’t turn in your passport….HA)……

After Bingo I head back to the stateroom and type my blog and get caught up and now it is time to wander down to the Walt Disney Theater for Twice Charmed.  Grab a picture or two.

Next it is off to dinner at Carioca's,  Tomorrow we will not be eating dinner on the ship as we will be in Iceland.

For late night entertainment, we see Hector is Magic's last show in Fathom's.  He was awesome.  He is getting off the ship in Iceland.  Hope DCL brings him back again.  John Charles will be getting on in Iceland!  Yippee!

Well, tomorrow is a big day, so goodnight from the Disney Magic!

  1. Glad to see the character breakfast is back at least for a short time. We always enjoyed it and were sad it wasn't on the earlier cruises.
