Stavanger, Norway July 2, 2015

How time flies.  Can’t believe I have been over here a month already, arriving in Copenhagen on June 2nd.  It is suppose to be 80 degrees here today!  What a difference two weeks time makes in the weather.

It is a wonderful morning out, but quite breezy.  Guests are getting off the ship early since we are only here until 12:45 p.m.  Many are taking boat rides out to look at Pulpit Rock from the fjord because there is not enough time to hike it today.  I also know some guests who are taking a helicopter over to view Pulpit Rock.

I don’t have any excursion planned today, so I get off the ship and take a leisurely walk through Stavanger and then head over to Starbucks to get a Very Berry Hibiscus and use free internet.
However, the time flies by and before you know it, it is time to head back to the ship for our 12:45 p.m. departure.  It is a shame that we can’t stay longer today.

Walking through the plaza I had a lady walking up the plaza and I was walking from one side to the other.  She has a piece of rolling luggage behind her.  Well, as our paths began to cross, I was about 2 steps to the side of her.  Little did I know she was going to come to a complete stop right after she passed me, but the luggage had not.  Okay, first injury of the cruise….down I went and I have one bloody, scraped up elbow, my left hand is bruised from breaking my fall and one right knee that has road rash and is bleeding and looks pretty dreadful.  I had about 4 tourists run over and see if they could help.  One guy said he was going to call a medic and I said I was just fine as I left remnants of my body in Stavanger.  I now have one extremely sore elbow, hand and knee.  But besides that, I am good to go.
There are so many guests trying to board the Disney Magic at 12:45 that the line goes half way done the street.  I stop and talk to Ashley in security since the line is so long.  I finally get in line about 12:55 p.m. but it takes me about 15 minutes to board.  All the guests don’t finish boarding until 1:25 p.m. and then Commodore Tom comes on and says that we will be departing in about 10 minutes.  He also states that the seas should pick up and be light to moderate this afternoon into the evening and that winds will be picking up.

It's like Walt Disney World waiting in line to get on the ship LOL

Lloyd and Carly!

Elaine and I head off to Lumiere's for lunch.  They have an awesome Chilled Tangerine Soup.  It is actually made with ice cream.  Then for lunch I have the Squash Risotto.  Very good lunch.

I head out to deck 10, but it is so windy I can’t stay up on deck.  I go down to deck 9 and get some sunshine but the boat is really swaying from the wind.  Come back to the stateroom and decide to watch Saving Mr. Banks and then take a nap.

Then it is off to the Walt Disney Theater to see Hector is Magic!  Great show.  I asked Hector how his leg is doing.  He injured it a few weeks ago and one of the readers of the blog was asking.  Hector says his leg is doing just fine.

After the show, head back and get ready for dinner and then it is off to Animator’s Palate for our Dinner Show.  Yummy butternut squash soup is on the menu.  And of course, we get a great show with Sorcerer Mickey at the end.

After that we head off to the Oceaneer Lab as it is adult time and we get to do Super Sloppy Science tonight and make volcanos.  Bob, Dale, Elaine and I make Mickey’s Magical Mountain and the volcano is highlighted with Mickey Bars at the top, Dale’s favorite dessert.  A fun time was had with Professor Make-O-Mess!

Mickey's Magical Mountain, he's ready to erupt!

Our volcano was orange!

After that it was off to the stateroom to call it another night.  Well, actually, that was after I watched movies  because we get an extra hour of sleep tonight and tomorrow is sea day!  Yippee!

Goodnight from the Disney Magic!
